1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Tacot Studio for use of Tacot — the Discord bot, website at tacot.org, dashboard, support tools, operator consoles (including talk-as-bot), hosting/coding services we offer, and related features (the “Service”).
By inviting Tacot, using commands, signing in to the website, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and Discord’s Terms and Community Guidelines. If you invite Tacot to a server, you represent that you have authority to bind that server to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must meet Discord’s minimum age and be allowed to use Discord in your country. You may not use Tacot if you are globally bot-banned or legally prohibited from using the Service.
3. The Service
Core bot features (economy, moderation, music, leveling, tickets, setup, and similar) are offered without a required payment. Optional premium, donations, custom coding, or hosting may raise limits or add paid work. We may change, rate-limit, or discontinue features at any time.
The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that a command will succeed.
4. Your responsibilities
- Follow Discord’s rules and applicable law. Do not use Tacot to spam, raid, harass, scam, exploit, or distribute illegal content (including child sexual abuse material — we will report and cooperate with platforms and law enforcement).
- Do not exploit bugs for infinite currency or access; report them via support or
!info. - Do not attack, scrape excessively, reverse-engineer in violation of law, or overload our infrastructure.
- Server staff are solely responsible for how they use moderation, automod, and similar tools (bans, kicks, mutes, lockdowns, tickets). Tacot is a tool; staff decide who is punished.
- Configure channel permissions so Tacot only sees channels you intend. Inviting the bot with broad read access is your choice.
- Do not send secrets, passwords, payment card numbers, government IDs, precise home addresses, or other people’s private information through AI chat or public channels.
- If you enable AI chat in a server channel, tell members that talking there may create conversation memories (see section 7).
5. Operator tools and access
By inviting Tacot you acknowledge that Tacot Studio operators may access servers the bot is in using operator dashboards and the talk-as-bot console, including reading recent messages (and embeds/attachments the API returns) and sending messages as the bot, for support, safety, and operations. You must not invite Tacot if your community does not accept that.
Operators will not use that access to impersonate users or to steal server ownership. Abuse of operator tools by anyone claiming to be us should be reported.
6. User content and license
You retain rights in content you submit (messages, ticket text, custom chatbot personalities, fandom links, configs). You grant Tacot Studio a worldwide, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display that content solely to operate the Service (including sending it to AI or Discord APIs when a feature requires it). You represent you have the rights to submit that content.
7. AI features and conversation memories
AI chat, setup copy, custom chatbots, actor personas, and similar features are optional. They may be unavailable, rate-limited, or inaccurate. Outputs can be wrong, offensive, or incomplete. Do not rely on Tacot AI for legal, medical, mental-health, or financial advice. You are responsible for content you generate or post using AI.
Conversation memories. If you talk to Tacot’s AI — including channel chat when a server has !ai on or !ai quiet, DMs with the bot, persona or custom chatbots, or the logged-in website helper — we may extract and store short lasting facts about you (for example a name you go by, likes, or projects) so later replies can stay consistent. Memories are tied to your Discord user ID and may be used in any server or DM where you use Tacot AI. They are not a full transcript of your chats.
By using those AI features you agree to this processing. You can review facts with !memory, delete them with !forget, or turn the feature off with !memory off (which also wipes stored facts). Unused memories are deleted after seven (7) days with no AI conversation. Deleting memories or turning them off does not erase messages already sent in Discord, operator logs, or logs held by third-party model providers we do not control.
Do not put passwords, payment cards, government IDs, home addresses, phone numbers, health details, or other people’s private information into AI chat. Filters try to skip some secret-looking text, but they are not perfect. Do not use AI features if you are under Discord’s minimum age.
Third-party model providers (which may include Groq, xAI, Google, OpenRouter, Cerebras, or a locally hosted model) process prompts and may receive relevant memories as part of a prompt, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use your chats to train Tacot’s own foundation models.
8. Economy, games, and virtual items
🌮 Tacos, items, XP, and similar balances are entertainment only and have no real-money value. They are not redeemable for cash. Game-style commands (including chance-based ones) are not real-money gambling. We may reset, cap, or correct balances for bugs or abuse without notice.
9. Messaging
Tacot does not mass-DM every member of a server. Broadcast/mail reaches users who opt in (for example !subscribe). !say and similar are staff-controlled. Welcome DMs, if a server enables them, are sent to joining members at that server’s request.
10. Invites and permissions
The recommended invite does not require Administrator and does not request Create Instant Invite. Tacot does not auto-create invites on join and does not mass-generate invite links for advertising. An invite may be created only in limited, explicit owner-approved flows if the bot already has that permission.
11. Paid offerings
Optional donations, premium, hosting, or custom-bot work are described at purchase time. Unless a listing says otherwise, paid work is provided as-is after delivery; chargebacks for delivered work may result in loss of access. Payment processors’ terms also apply. Taxes are your responsibility where required.
12. Third-party services
The Service depends on Discord and may call AI hosts, listing sites, payment processors, CDNs, and integrations you enable (RSS, GitHub, Twitch, etc.). We are not responsible for those parties’ outages or policies.
13. Enforcement
We may warn, rate-limit, bot-ban users, leave or refuse servers, delete data, or disable features for abuse, legal risk, or Terms violations, with or without notice. Appeals may be sent through support; we are not required to restore access.
14. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that moderation will catch all harmful content or that music, AI, or dashboards will be error-free.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TACOT STUDIO AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST VIRTUAL ITEMS, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $20. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places our liability is limited to the minimum the law requires.
16. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Tacot Studio and its operators against claims arising from your content, your servers’ use of Tacot, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, remove the bot and stop using the website.
18. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the entire agreement for the Service. If a section is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service. Headings are for convenience only.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Tacot Studio’s place of operation, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer law in your country says you may bring claims in your local courts.
